Thief
Thief in my garden
Flower heads missing
Out the window
Little flower bounces across the yard
Scurrying gray and white legs and a fluffy tail
Not a raccoon, aka masked bandit
But a sticky-fingered squirrel

Deer stripped the rose bush we got for my mother last summer. They are cute but still.
Your poem captures sweet moment with well chosen details and good humor. Very nice.
