On the Street Corner

crude sign fashioned
from flimsy cardboard
only one word legible
from my car window
homeless
rolled up three ones
and handed him
recalling the warning
so many had given
he’ll use it for drugs
a father somewhere
wonders about
his son
if I have erred
let it be on the side
of love

I Am in New and Rare Form

Witty Glittery Magic
Where do dragons hide?
Sprinkles of chopped parsley on high
dinosaur eggs hatching!
Video games and Vespa hangouts
witty glittery magic

I have a plan.
There is comfort in fiction.
The cold familiar tingle of a ghost that never lingers
Squirelly bubble guts and student loans
Words unsaid to people we love
witty glittery magic

Privileged life of luck and ease
Love is THE Universal truth
Science and myth will meet in the middle
Finding understanding and understanding findings
Fluidity and innovation are poems
witty glittery magic
