June Sonnet
here’s to June One
LexPoMo has begun
seed words scatter
within brain matter
universe of thoughts
screened caught
root in fertile field
of verse yield
flowering poetry
of every variety
bouquets gathered
shared remembered
tradition met
time well spent

Nice, looking forward to your poems this month!
The internal rhyming here elevates this one!
So glad you are scattering your “seed words” our way. It will be a treat to read that garden of thought all month!
Clever sonnet. Really nice word combinations. I particularly like …seed words scatter.
Starting June with a sonnet! Nice!
Wonderful start to this year’s LexPoMo!!
The image of “universe of thoughts screened caught” continues to reverberate for me. I am very moved by this ars poetica you created.
Thanks everyone! It’s so nice to get all this feedback!
Kathleen,
Love this intro poem to Lexpomo! Really like “seed words scatter within brain matter.” May you have a month of fertile ground for your poems!!
Wonderful rhythm and use of rhyme. It flows from beginning to end seamlessly, but I also like that I can read it from the outside in (1st & last line, then 2nd and 2 nd-to-last, etc). Nice.
