faded flora
my heart is like
a basket of dried
funeral flowers
that rests upon
his grave
chrysanthemums
carnations
calla lillies all
brown
withered
dropping
petals daily
life is done

Such emotion and sadness here. Sorry for your loss. You might think about dropping the last line and end on the petals falling. That action (of petals dropping) keeps the poem going long after the words end, much like our thoughts and love keep going after someone leaves us. I also like your title.
Thank you for your comment and suggestion. This is not actually my loss. This is one of seriess of poems from the perspective of a parent losing a child in the school shooting in Uvalde, TX.
