Moonrise
Twilight waves crash upon painted shores.
A burning sun evaporates
in wispy streams as gray as the sheep
leaping over slumber-hewn fences
under the galaxy’s starry-eyed glow,
basking in a sea of moonlit fancies
until the break of dawn.

Love slumber hewn fences! Great imagery..
Thank you, Linda!
Familiar imagery, compelling, a memory
so clear I can taste the sea spray and
feel sand under my feet.
I’m so happy this poem reminded you of fond memories!
From twilight to the anticipation of dawn—you write with such a wonder-filled sense of enchantment about this passage of time….thank you!
Thank you so much! The sky, especially sunset and sunrise, fascinates me✨

Thank you!
I’d say I liked this particular line or that one, but all of the imagery is too wonderful to isolate. So I’ll just say that this was great work. Keep it up!
Thank you so much, Maira! You’re too kind 😊
