Sponsored by Workhorse, Lexington Poetry Month is an easy to use
platform for poets to publish and share their work in an attractive
way. The community is supportive and diverse, commenting and
encouraging one another throughout June. Money we raise goes
to maintaining the cost of the website and publishing the yearly
anthology. Our goals are to provide every poet (~150) a copy of
the anthology, lower printing costs, and expand opportunities
offered during Lexington Poetry Month, such as featured readings
and poetry workshops.
I thought this was going to be haiku, but after trying to wrestle it into the cramped space I’d picked for it, it stretched itself right on into a different, freer format.
I read this at a serendipitous time, as I am attending my first yoga class tonight, after several months of physical therapy. I hope it’s a balm of calm.
I hope it was a balm of calm for you, Tom. The first time I tried in a class, it was decidedly not. Being in person with other people was too distracting for me to get the mental health benefits. My favorite way to yoga is alone in the quiet before anyone else is awake with an app that was once called Down Dog and now is labeled “Yoga” on my phone.

I really liked how you opened with tactile imagery, “tender warmth”, I felt like that really drew me in. Great job!
Beautiful morning meditation for day one, Alvera.
You captured Yoga! Loved the balm of calm!
I hear a gong sounding at the end
Ironic, Gaby, as I have a tiny singing bowl I tend to sound many mornings. 🙂
