I understand why the ancients worshipped the sun;
To escape from the darkness;
To draw towards the light;
To know that the void
Is no longer cut in the shape of a man;
To know that this is not about man,
Not anymore;
To feel the warmth on your face;
To embrace the burning;
To accept what things are;
To release what they will be;
To know the beginning and end;
To tenderly hold your ignorance;
To breathe, and breathe again;
To surround oneself with love
and know it is true.

The poem shapes so well on the page and I love the semicolons;
I really feel the lines “To accept what things are; To release what they will be;” because isn’t that what the sun has always done? I’d worship it, too.
I feel this on a daily basis. Beautiful!
True story! I love it, Ariana.
Good stuff. Original.
This is so beautiful.
