Gas Line 1973
Blue/Orange striped tee shirt.
Cutoff jean shorts. Sears.
Hand swimming out the window, humming.
Hamstrings sweat stuck
to the vinyl bench seat
of a ’67 Ford Falcon with no AC.
Summer-
The warmed steering wheel of another time’s
mediocre American apocalypse.

reminds me of that old
‘your mom’ joke
and selling the car for
gas-o-leen
very sensual
Does take me back to those days of cars with no AC and how sticky they got. Well done.
I remember that apocalypse, which seemed pretty real at the time. Fine poem.
Good stuff here Bernard!
I remember this! Your description brought back memories. :))
