As I Travel
Some scheduled things will be left undone
like reading and writing and gardening,
some unscheduled things will be added
like talking and cooking and grandsitting.
Some things I’d like to do will be pushed aside
until I have time because when a daughter needs me
I’ll show up. Time out of time.

Beautiful! I especially love the title–and how you end this. I’m in this “place,” too–showing up again and again. A good place. 🙂
A good place indeed. Thanks.
Just the poem I needed: heading out for our daughter’s wedding in the morning 🙂
I enjoy reading about the event.
I love the unhurried pace of this poem, even though it is about time.
Thanks for that recognition, Nancy.
Loved the last line!
Thanks, Linda.
constant movement and change!
Thanks, River. Love your name.
I’m glad to find your words again, Melva… Yesterday, I picked up my 5-year-old and 7-year-old granddaughters because my daughter had to be out of town. When she called me to make sure I got them, I said with emphasis: “I forgot.”
From the back seat, my 7-year-old shouted, “he’s lying.”
How funny. And how quick they are to reassure parents!
So sweet!
Thanks, Pat.
Beautiful poem about having your priorities straight ❤️
Thanks, Kevin.
Thanks, fine folks.
