What I Learned About Myself
People like to trample over me
A quiet stone on their path
I don’t move or crumble
They do bad things and
Cross my boundaries
I walk away silent
Told I’m easy
Wired to freeze
not fight or flight
I consider both sides
Analyze what I learned
Then cut them out my life

Compelling.
Good (but hard) lesson to learn!
Very relatable! Sometimes the best thing is to walk away. Important lesson to learn for us all I believe.
I like your lines “told I’m easy/Wired to freeze” and the delivery of lines all through this— I feel there is a cool wisdom expressed through a kind of transcendence. I do love this poem. Thank you!
The shape of this poem on the page is interesting! And the message is relatable.
A stone will not break and can be painful to the careless who trod upon it. Nice writing, SpitFire1111.
