Clavicle
No one will compliment me on them
but I think I have nice collarbones.
They stick out like a bird perch
on an otherwise flabby body,
the leylines hidden from the map
of my skin. Even if
I were to render the fat away,
I would still be considered stocky,
a category away from thin
or attractive, but my collarbones,
at least they are perfect as they are.

No matter what (where?) it is—discovering something to love about your body—that is really great! My collar bones don’t match—so I am experiencing some degree of collar bone envy as I write(—yet I feel pretty good about my ears!)
Love your poem and the point of view you take. Thank you!
This is so sweet. I have been dealing with a chronic pec/shoulder blade issue for the last several years that dramatically affected my left collarbone. It was swollen and raised for a long time. So… I think about collarbones a lot. If I met you, I might just have noticed your perfect ones! Anyway, this poem is great… really inviting. The line breaks are working really well and I love the tone.
