No Regrets before Sun Sets
Sweet n sour this total
eclipse euphoria, claim our strawberry
jam waterfall nest of memory trails.
Drink in every kettle of Earl Grey
antique lace sunset,
with your warm hand in mine.
I can not fly but instead swim,
see better underwater, head submerged
on the hunt for fish.
I will check my luggage to gain
more travel miles, heart purged
on the hunt for freedom.
There is a time difference
and there are years left.
Both shimmer unalarmed
before the ultraviolet night.

Also.. I would love to shimmer unalarmed.
Very unique word combinations here that create curiosity and flow beautifully, drawing me to somewhere I want to be!
Very creative images and language in this poem!
You’re such a kind force in poetry.
Much love.
I love your language. Love “our strawberry/jam waterfall nest of memory trails” !!!
Thank you!! Waterfall and strawberry were words I drew from the Paint Chip Poetry bag:
So satisfying when the right prompts align!
Much love.
Enjoying the vacation retreat of this boozy release before a more sober end. Very well done.
Jon,
Your comments is both kind and symphonic!!
I feel like you wrote a trailer for a short film of poetry, and I love that.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Oh my!
Thank you, so much, Mary.
This was a blast to put together.
I feel the stanzas worked themselves out rather intuitively–
I changed the order for the better in a final draft!
Much love.
