Nurturer of Origin
I memorized the weight of your step
the force behind the gait
it stands caged in my body as
a jump
caught in my skin as
a shiver
trapped in my throat as
a scream
that was never released
instead my insides brace
for the violence
you shared freely
like love

There’s something to be said about memorizing a person’s weighty steps in the dead of night that brings about hyper-vigilance, dread, and anticipation. Sending hugs and love. Looking forward to reading more.
the way your words embodied this feeling that too many of us know … powerful.
whoa! i felt this in my body. this is breathtaking.
It’s that last line that makes me gulp. You feel an attraction to someone that is tempered by fear or experience. At least, that’s my take. Strong poem.
I can FEEL this poem. That’s how I know it holds power. ❤️
I cannot to wait to read every word you share over the next 30 days! Brilliant!

That line brought memory. Your words capture it well.
