Unheard Truths
You’re upset with yourself when you are just waiting for your turn to speak. You’re not listening, you’re weak. You’re tired of losing people. The thing you hate the most about yourself is not giving up on people who don’t deserve you and not showing up for people who do/show up for you. You don’t have the knowledge to ask the appropriate question. You know what you want but you don’t want to deal with having it.

Prose poem format makes the lines scroll as if the sentences were pounding in your head!
Oof! Felt…
Love the stream of thought flow with the format; the questioning of self and raw acknowledgement of “flaws.”
Then boom, that last line!
The poem’s power lies in how it’s a spoken and unspoken revelation, and it feels universal too.
A self talk we often give to ourselves- well written!
I felt like this was my train of thought while washing dishes at the kitchen sink. Thank you for the relatable vulnerability.
