Quantum Warning System
That part of heart and soul
separated from our
entangled lives enrolls
in school to chart her course.
That eighteen year old girl
now freely goes, empowered,
and we hope that any
spooky action at a
distance will still set off
alarm bells when needed.

I really like that title and how succinctly you describe both the story and concern in the poem.
Thank you!
Nice, Bud! I suspect she’ll be OK, and if she needs you, the alarm system you describe will go off loud and clear,

Hoping so.
Much appreciated!

You expressed the parent-child connection and confidence in your daughter lovingly.
Thank you, Eugenia!
Hopefully it’ll be a false alarm. It goes with the territory doesn’t it? They don’t stop being your child when they leave home.
