Did they prick the tongue
with jolts and stings
the first time someone gobbled them up?
Perhaps
I’ll stick
with something soft.

Yes. And surely if you cook them right, they get nice and soft!
I will usually try anything at least once, but might have to pass on this. You want soft, but I’m going to stick with familiar.
