Forever
“I faced in myself a passionate and tenacious longing… forever…To take the trail
and not look back.. Let the rest of mankind find me if it could.”
John Haines
Purpose is required
long after all reason leaves
and goals have vanished.
No longer are we banished
to the wild sowing of seeds.
Time, it’s said cures lack
regardless of our desire.
Each wilderness yields.
Every trail welcomes us back
so we gather in our fields.

Gorgeous, Coleman. I especially love “Every trail welcomes us back
so we gather in our fields.”
Thank you for seeing it.
Love the message and the sounds of this! And the form. Show off. ; )
Lol…..thank you Bill.
Yours has the voice of a certain kind of spiritual teacher. Don’t let it go to your head!
It’s him 🙂 i was pondering how he was so adamant and then came back to us with his notes.
This form is so gorgeous, and you do it so beautifully.
Thank you very much…I’m working on these again ….I hope I can get a few more this year.
Seis en la primera linea si no se pronuncia con acento del Sur.

“Purpose is forceful”
Is maybe a fix for that.
Thanks again.
I’m taken by the images of hopefulness in the ending of this great poem.
Thank you, I was too, on thinking that he really did want to get away and yet maybe we all come back from our journeys to help.
I love this. “Each wilderness yields” – so true. Ending on the rhyme between yields and fields in the second stanza is also nice.
Thank you Chelsie 😀
Beautiful, Coleman, in your weaving of the concrete with the abstract.
