Oh, MI!
My favorite mitten, such a sweet motherland.
I can show my hometown on the palm of my hand.
Cradled by lush forests, hemmed in crystalline lakes,
Harbors and havens boast a low risk of earthquakes.
I’ll tell you the truth. It’s paradise in summer.
(Go south for the winter. Up here it’s a bummer.)
Auto manufacturers and sports teams to cheer,
No lack of Lions, Tigers, or Sleeping Bears here!

An acrostic is a tough form to pull off, but say yes to Michigan!! lol Honestly, I thought you were from Versailles or something, which is my love language
Haha! That’s good! I’ve been in Kentucky almost 13 years, so hopefully I’ve lost any midwestern vowel shift.
I love Michigan, an unsung state! Appreciate the rhyme here.
I love this! Reminds me of visiting family in Kalamazoo, and my own time at WMU.
That’s where I’m from!
Made me so happy to see a poem about someone’s home town. I am working on something similar. I loved this one line especially. It’s like ripped out of one of the greatest love songs of all time!
“I can show my hometown on the palm of my hand.”
Great. Just really wonderful!
Very nice!
A beauty of an acrostic. Love “G”.
Clever!
yessssss michigan!!!!!
Love this! Made me crave some broasted chicken and fish boil.
Clever! My son in law moved my daughter up there to White Lake. She was born in Lincoln Park, near Dearborn.
From the title down, I felt this. Originally from Wisconsin, I could relate!
Nice. Love “I”
Love the use of the acrostic form. Well done, Chelsie.
one of my favorite things about meeting some one from Michigan is when they show me on their hand where they live!
So true, and so much fun here!
