Darcie Auditions for Trisha Brown
Spinning freely,
excitedly,
expressively,
with childlike abandon
Moving quickly,
lightly,
supplely,
like a deer with graceful fluidity
Footwork rhymically,
easily,
smoothly,
as agile as nimble fingers knitting
Communicating bodily,
creatively,
wordlessly,
telling visual, visceral stories
Executing deftly,
masterly,
intelligently,
physical steps of spiritual expression

Love the visuals of this, it looks like a dance! With the formula of two words (end in adverb), line, one adverb, line, one adverb, line, then a final phrase, it gives the illusion of rehearsing a practiced performance. I can feel Darcie’s free spirit through this poem. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, this one dances Larry, thanks!
You are most welcome, Jess. Thank you, in turn, for your kind words. I appreciate your comment as Darcie died en route to that audition. She’s forever dancing to me. Peace
This is written like a dance, a ballet. So elegant and full of grace.
