Linda is that woman
in the middle
of every thing.
She almost believes not sure
if success is even a could
or any more significant
than progress. She
is moving, swinging
over to a new confidence.
A brilliance, a quiet eloquence of thought.
No, when the words disintegrate she shifts
from a woman attending the world
to a gleaming show of force, a poet.
Linda is a woman conveying true intellect.
“glad of…hard-won, admittedly modest momentum.”
Linda is careful with language
promising no future
too wonderful or lamenting the past.
She speaks with authority
still writing with her strong voice.
She decorates page-scapes, her body
and mind completely engaged.

A beautiful love poem to a woman who “decorates page-scapes.”
I love the definitions at the beginning that draw out the landscapes she walked and is walking.
You show us Linda “…that woman
in the middle
of every thing.”
Thank you, Coleman! Sigh.

Heartfelt and deeply moving poem, Coleman.
So much love here: “Linda is that woman/in the middle/of every thing”
and “attending the world/to a gleaming show of force, a poet.” What a beautiful portrait.
Beautiful, poem and subject.
An Absolutely Amazing, complete, dimensional, portrait you paint. I (of course) do not personally know this woman, but by the end i Do actually feel some love & admiration for her. I give my thank you for this model poem.
exquisite poem, where speaker and subject together evoke “a gleaming show of force”
It’s truly a pleasure to read her words (and yours!) this year! Thank you for this.
