Spring’s Hold
spring rain dances as it falls
without taking notice of summer’s call
grey skies cover brilliant blue
while mirrored quiet in foggy dew
I sit and sip a cozy warm tea
wishing for the cold to be set free
the heat will find us,
that’s for sure
later this week
as we stand & sweat near once closed doors

Thanks, Bud!
holds a nice stillness: mirrored quiet in foggy dew
Ah, the stillness. Yes. Thank you, Pam!

Thank you, Linda!
Yes, its been April for 75 days 😀
Neat. I love love how you softened the rhyme and then broke it.
Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant in contextual crafting.
Pro level.
Many thanks, Coleman! Truly. Yeah, we are hoping for June to arrive (and stay) this week.
I appreciated all of the imagery and sensory feelings in this poem, well done!
Thank you! The endless rain (I believe at least one weekend day each week since October up here in NY) lends itself to a stillness, which then offers a sharper focus on the senses. I appreciate your kind words and that you read this one.
So stunningly beautiful it’s chilling, H.A. Much to admire here. A poem to study and learn to improve my own

Amen! I am ready for fall already 😛
