When Abusers Die
When abusers die
and secret contracts voided,
victims are released.
Graves for some are rebirthings for others.

Wow. Well said.
There’s a striking economy in your language—so much weight in so few lines. “Graves for some are rebirthings for others” reframes loss as renewal, and the poem as a whole speaks to cycles of harm and healing.
Thanks, Bud and Dana. Such supportive comments are so welcoming (esp with touchy, intimate topics), and seemed like a gentle spring rain moving across a parched desert floor. Thank you again!
You’re right, and I’m not sure I noticed that yet… it’s that age-old spring of renewal that replaces the winter of loss, or a natural, creative expansion away from some unnatural chaos.
Thanks, Dana!
