“effectiveness of a saltwater bath in purging crawfish”
Written by W Ray McClain and Anna McClain of Louisiana State University.
A husband and wife, I imagine.
Passionate about crustaceans, South Louisiana cultural traditions,
throwing academically rigorous tailgates.
I would love to drink whiskey on their porch till late in a hot night.
The good stuff.
He slept with one of his GAs when they were in their PHD program.
She forgave him but we all know that
she loves the crawfish more than she loves him.
It happens to the best of us, pal.
There’s a third author on the paper: John J. Sonnier, a good ole cajun son of a bitch.
He’s got a soft catch in his voice that makes Anna look up from the mud bugs.

Gorgeously descriptive –concise yet expansive, a story with a wide sweepn that took me to New Orleans (or thereabouts). Love “academically rigorous tailgates” and the VOICE of the whole poem. That last line. Wow.
Oh my! The storytelling here is exquisite.
Hilarious!
