Sponsored by Workhorse, Lexington Poetry Month is an easy to use
platform for poets to publish and share their work in an attractive
way. The community is supportive and diverse, commenting and
encouraging one another throughout June. Money we raise goes
to maintaining the cost of the website and publishing the yearly
anthology. Our goals are to provide every poet (~150) a copy of
the anthology, lower printing costs, and expand opportunities
offered during Lexington Poetry Month, such as featured readings
and poetry workshops.
Thanks, Kevin. Fun story— I was watching short archery videos and the student was totally flirting with the instructor. Ha! It made me laugh. This is what percolated afterwards.
Amazing! I took up archery in my 20s, Took a hiatus in my 30s for work, life, etc.– In my 40s, I’m slowly easing myself back into it. I watch a few videos to help with remembering technique…and then head down a rabbit hole of videos completely unrelated to what I need. So glad this one brought you back! Thanks for reading!
This was such a cool way to express tension and movement! I could really feel the motions described and you did great job of giving the reader a story through only a snapshot.
Thanks, Jeremy. I have been rekindling my interest in archery, and after falling into a rabbit hole of YouTube tutorials (and unrelated bloopers!) this tiny poem came to be.
Oh so very good !!!!
Thanks. I just realized…it’s almost a tank, too. Ha!

Fantastic! I have a soft spot for persona poems narrated by—I was going to say inanimate objects but that’s not quite accurate here. So imaginative.
