absolution blues
return to us the old notion
all believers are saints
restore the souls of
the wicked to
the rolls of
the just
in
death
to be lifted
carried up with
no judgement in the face
of angels unavenging unfallen
imagine what it would be to die unafraid

Wow! Love the form and message. I will be pondering that last line all day!
This poem’s form and message are incredible. I love the way it tapers and stretches back out. The hourglass shape is super cool. It fits well with the notion(s) of time echoed throughout. So cool!
death and rebirth
What a perfect concrete poem. So good!
Jules – this is so special! The form and the message!
What an effective concrete poem. It’s shaped perfectly. The message Coke though beautifully. A+.
Excellent! Absolution through the form of a chalice.
the hour glass shape makes me even more aware it’s easy to imagine dieing unafraid, it’s the slow journey that’s the challenge
I’m fascinated by your themes if time and guilt in these last two poems.
