Peering out the window after a tornado warning
This morning’s like a mountain burning,
snowy peaks subliming to steam.
The clouds, lightning stricken,
still tinged orange, linger in cornflower
fields. In the wake
of the storm, God smiles in the firmament.

I love your combinations of strong images “like a mountain burning,” and the sounds like “subliming to steam.”
Thank you so much! If chemistry was useful for anything, it was teaching me the verb sublime. 🙂
Beautiful images and sounds. For both those reasons, I especially like
“The clouds, lightning stricken,
still tinged orange, linger in cornflower
fields.”
Thank you so much!!! 😊
I know how that is…
Ahhh yes
