Morning Dew
The heaviness of morning dew
a late summer moisture
turned leaves
of the Hosta drinking gourd
into teacups filled
with the sweet juice of early dawn
until the sun released its warmth
sipping tea in its wake.

Thank you. Morning is a special time.
love how this tiny drama unfolds. (reminds me to water my houseplants)
Much appreciated.
Such beautiful description here and it all ends with tea – perfect!
Thank you so much. Ah, tea.
Tranquil meditation on morning dew. Love the form of one long-flowing sentence. Well-crafted, Virginia

You see tea everywhere, and I love it!
“until the sun released its warmth
sipping tea in its wake.” – marvelous image!
One year the dear ate all my hostas down to the ground. Just when they were getting ready to bloom! Is there anything deer will not eat?
Thank you so much.
Oops – wrong deer (I have been writing too many Dear poems it seems!)
I especially like: “teacups filled
with the sweet juice of early dawn” in this sweet ballad.
Much appreciated.
“turned leaves . . . into teacups” Especially lovely! So much lush imagery- and the poetic closure is so comforting!
Much appreciated. Thank you.
Love how the sun (or its heat) is described as sipping tea. Wonderful scene and smartly written.
