Double Dose
Our neighbors, both named Cathy,
have been together for 30 years,
married when it was legal.
I love how they load up their RV
& go to the Smokies every year,
feed our dogs treats over the fence.
Since my stroke, they check on me,
bring spare plates of BBQ to the door,
send birthday cards with flowers.
After my hysterectomy, they detail
their own journeys. The pain is real.
How lucky am I? How seriously blessed.

Such incredible neighbors you have! I bet they feel blessed to have you nearby, too. You showcase their love and care so beautifully here.
Great poem!
Yes! I’d like to meet them sometime.
Lovely poem.
Appreciation in intimate and diverse detail. Well done.
I love the Cathys! Blessings both ways.
Hope you show them this lovely tribute.
Great stuff, Linda. We should all be so lucky to have such kind and good neighbors. You certainly deserve it.
Your poem is a wonderful reality check, Linda. No matter how bad we THINK we have it, we’re really blessed. Just a matter of remembering.
