in the nature of remembrances
there are days like this
every once in awhile
grey overcast hangs moodily
fits me like wet paper
yeah look and feel my best today
like something the cat dragged in after a three-day bender in a bramble patch
but that’s life
sun will dawn again tomorrow
and so will i

Have been in that bramble patch, love the optimistic note this ends on.

That is such a great line! I love the poem’s recognition of difficulty with a touch of optimism at the end. Nicely done!
Nice to have confirmation from someone who has written so many. Thank you, H.A., for your close read and supportive words
