Dear Jesus/Unhomed Individual
Halo of dust, robes
Plain as a puddle, your bruised
Palm stretched toward me

I love this. It’s quiet, elegant, and poignant. Yes!
Thank you, H. A.! Your comments are always so sweet!
Heartfelt and leaves much to think on. Thank you.
Thanks so much, Eric! I have really enjoyed reading your work this June.
Beautiful.
As are you!
Beautiful and vulnerable. The title completely reframes how we look at anyone, how the divines shine through to us.
Exactly! Thanks for much for responding, Michele!
Oh! So moving.
You are on fire.
Very kind, Kevin, but I think I burned out years ago!
A heartfelt expression of compassion. Beautiful expression of reaching out for hope. A prayer.
Thank you, VL! I appreciate you reading my work!
“robes
Plain as a puddle” is perfect here.
Thanks, Nancy. I feel like a puddle most days!
The bruised palm- a subtle metaphor. Beautiful.
This is a brilliant little piece – the halo, plain robes and bruised palm reaching out. I have a much darker poem about a street person in Phila, but the Jesus metaphor never occurred. That hand reaching out seems to be always present.
(and ya gotta love plain as a puddle)
“Halo of dust” is incredibly vivid imagery. I love it.
Yes!
