she lived each moment
as though wringing every
last drop of moisture
from a damp towel—
then hung herself out to dry

Wow Larry!! your poem conjured up so much imagery for me . . . even took me back to my Grandparent’s screened in back porch area where we had an actual old fashioned wringer washing machine. & also imagery of someone who gave it all she got!!! I’ve enjoyed your writing so much this June, thank you Larry!
