Sunrise
Sunrises as earth rotates into its rays
Society slumbers from rest
While the wren flees her nest.
Darkness fades away
Into this dawn,
A new day
All the while,
I sit in traffic
Thinking about the wren.

Very zen moment! I like it.
Much possibility in this poem. The last line is wordy, disturbing the flow.
The words (thinking about ) takes up space that
(pondering) could replace or some other word of you choosing. But I like the disturbance coming at the end if you choose to keep the words. Ending are where disturbances and other insights happen best.
I like that the promise of the day mostly rests for the poet in the hope of free flight. So true, especially in summer.
