A Commentary on Journalism Today
Too many reporters
surrender
their tenacity
their curiosity
to newsmakers
who decide
what is right
to write
Result…

The Star
The Sun
The Eagle
The Bee
The Post
The Press
The Commoner
The Monitor
The Reporter
The Enquirer
The Leader
The Ledger
The Republican
The Democrat
The Morning Call
The Evening Express
The Telegram
The Telegraph
The Daily American
The Journal-American
The News-American
… All American…
dip their flags
from their graves

It truly is sad what’s happened to that profession. And we don’t fully appreciate that until it’s put in a list like this. Very nice work.
Retired daily newspaper reporter here. That’s quite a flagpole of American newspapers! I feel and hear you.
Oh–those last three lines gave me goosebumps. Yes, so true a commentary. (Ditto on Phillip’s and Linda’s comments, too.)
Your list is scary. Newspapers’ obituaries are for themselves.
Excellent obituary for our press.
