A Fight to the Spinach
“Step aside,” the spider shouted
as he neared the garden gate.
“Not so fast,” replied the mantis,
as he folded up his cape.
They would have fought a bitter duel,
but for the ladybug who sassed,
“They’re fighting over spinach!”
on her way as she flew past.
So, the spider said, “You go first,”
And mantis said, “No, you.”
Then, side-by-side, they waltzed on through
tripping on each other’s shoes.

love the title and the poem matches it
This would be a wonderful children’s book. I can see the illustrations now.
Lots of fun–worthy, as said above, of a children’s book!
Great title.
Love: tripping on each other’s shoes.
lol, of course they would!
Playful, whimsical, a delight!
