a.m. radio
at 3 a.m. when sound travels
up the full moon hollow
you hear men’s voices
like watson heard bell
the volume of one man raises
for you to make out
send her on over he says
then a little louder
send her on over
the other’s voice is muffled
something like pancakes
for breakfast
then another
send her on over

This is such a great idea for a poem. Good job.
You really capture the leaning in listening of static radio .. voices from afar

moonlit crackle
radiowaves. love it.
I love how this poem builds its mood. There’s a mystery to it.
I couldn’t help but notice the seeming absurdity of a dialogue about pancakes and sending for her. i liked that.
Somebody else has been up at 3 a.m.. feelin it, Jim.
the hollers be like that on clear nights
“Full moon hollow” – love that. Enjoy the idea of distance and what it does for communication (or miscommunication).
Tuning in, curious for more!
