Aegis Jesus
Sweet grass confetti
strewn across the passage floor
The ancient ease weaves
wonderous kissed mountain tops–
steadying lush loneliness,
unbuckling fear,
unearthing heaven’s one core–
God is love, and love
is God, and Jesus is here.
Hallelujah and Amen.

I love “ease weaves/wonderous” and all the other internal rhyme. After looking up “Aegis,” I see how it fits. I also love “unbuckling fear.”
Thanks so much for the comment and for reading my poem!
