After You’ve Blocked the Number
Chin arrested between
arm wrapped knees back
against the wall again
crash landed and crying.
Catch, kiss, release
a muttered mantra
of hopelessness.
Stop.
You never needed
holding to be complete.
Catch, kiss, laugh.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

How quickly you bring this around from hopelessness
to keep hoping
Very striking poem. Makes me want to say, are you ok?
Doing fine! I just like to try on different speakers from time to time.
Repetition so effective here, Bernie
Very nice
I like how you’ve taken a human condition and added the modern cultural “blocked number.” “You never needed/
holding to be complete” is awesome!
Great title
