Animal
Time is a bird
we hold too tight.
Gold is a spider
that bites.
Joy is a mule
That does not fight.
Home is a wolf
In silver moon’s light.
My universe is
made of bone
and muscle and you.

Lovely
love how the second stanza replies to the first
Those first two lines are KILLER.
The last three lines butcher me!
I love how you weave the animal kingdom into our own lives! Great job!
Yes to what Katrina said. Please keep weaving the animal and plant kingdom into our lives.
Wonderful! The unexpected non-rhyme of the last “you” is a great choice and effective.
“Joy is a mule
That does not fight” ❤️
It’s nice to know what we’re made of
Beautiful poem!
What thoughtful “definitions.” Thanks!
