Bourbon county
It was a sweltering summer day
As tractor rumbled away
Cutting the golden hay
Mr. Jolly smiled and waved
Parked and stayed
Sharing his spare cola
I sat on his old John Deere
With about 60 years between us
Bonding over cheap bologna and diet rite soda
Simple kindness
To a child
Lasts forever.

you’ve frozen the moment forever. I like the continuation of the spatial “With about 60 years between us” from the previous line
I knew a delightful Mr. Jolly, and you have made me see him again. The sandwich and the Diet Rite fit exactly. Such a treasure you have.
The smallest things leave the biggest impressions. Lovely!
