COVID triptych
Purple suitcase, late
gift comes with note: “production
delayed by COVID”.
This reward from his
new job; supplying income
& time to travel
But sequestered I
remain, immune system far
too vulnerable.

This one hits so hard.
I love the sparseness and how the suitcase carries the poem so well.
Stay safe, stay healthy. Stay you and enjoy that beautiful suitcase soon.
Do you have plans for it now? Because I got a little vision in my head of it FULL of beautiful flowers to admire in your home.
So many plans and celebrations delayed or canceled. 🙁 I’m supposed to be visiting my elderly, housebound mother right now but with the states opening up and people gathering for marches and protests, I’m afraid of the additional exposure and taking the virus to her.
@Tabitha – it’s a new-fangled fabric carry-on suitcase, that might get used for my upcoming brief hospital stay – but that’s about the only plans for it right now.
Thank you. I was aiming for sparse; good to know it transmutes / translates that. (Transmits? Yeah, that might be the word…)
@Melissa – I hear your sadness and frustration. I ‘tick all the boxes’ for high risk of non- or poor recovery if I’m infected…. so all the sensible precautions are being taken. *hugs & understanding*
