Daily Performance
Rabbits congregate
on dark lawns. Birds tune singing
voices. Audience
takes seats on dew-bent clover.
Sun rises like a curtain.

Ah, rabbits! And birds! All those early-risers — and I love the sun rising like a curtain on this scene. You paint such a nice one.
I collect rabbits. I love rabbits! Now I have a lovely rabbit poem to start another poetry collection. I know birds always appear but it’s all about the rabbits. Great tanka!
To be clear this is the first poem in my collection. You have inspired me!
❤️I love what this lovely poem achieves. I appreciate the use of only two adjectives: “dark” and “dew-bent”
So lovely–and what Gaby says–very effective tanka in its considered brevity
(and poets congregate around their computers) (I suppose we are both rabbit and audience lol)
