Day by Day
One by one they open
the hellebores, the lilacs,
bluestars and honey-colored irises
Day by day she places
each small arrangement
on the tray where he can see it
Hoping for light to return

So powerful. Love the simplicity & implication. Great turn at the end.
A delicate poem, like the flowers themselves, but it’s all there – love, devotion, hope.
Nice one Linda and yes, the turn works.
Beautiful.
Simplicity, delicacy with a punch Brava!
Beautiful voice.
You may have come late (just read your bio) but you are coming on strong! Love the imagery and tenderness.
Yes, Linda, good one. A big story in a small, delicate verse.
