Day Dreamer
He let his head
Day dream too long.
Sun baked.
Drank what he lost,
lost what he dranK.
Wore jeans.
(Dumb ass)
Nothing not to smile about.
Toured the city.
Errands ran him.
He: leisurely observer of growth.
Trying
Just trying.
A shift in the wind
For the sails of my mind.
I smiled more.
-PRESENT-
*
Darkness covers
No inference.
To lie down
Smiling
In the face of opposition,
Spin by spin,
Dark to light…
-PRESENT-
*
I will free myself,
Time and time again,
To pluck the notes of my life.
Living: the harmony of the mind and soul.
-Present-
*
Maybe it was a good day
For day dreams
After all.

Brady, I like the way you write.
Another very good poem.
Your support is really encouraging! I’ve never been a traditional type of poet, it’s always more from that personal experience, and letting that dictate how it comes out as a series of words. But I truly do appreciate you reading this and I’m glad that it brought you some joy!
I dropped today. I like the way you amble through the poem daydreaming with you. The way you smile in the face of opposition. Good to meet you. From one daydreamer to another.
Thank you for reading, Linda.
Just reflecting on my resiliency and my current path in life. Coming from a nearly clean slate is overwhelming, but the day dreams help guide my sense of direction, and without them, I don’t know that I’d have a path in life. I think it’s always a good day for a little daydreaming.
