Delicate Morning
A cotton-candy morning,
pink sky and river water
frame a bumpy log jammed
against the shore. Wooden stage
supports six geese, a chorus
announces the day.
Pastel scene defies slashes
of deep colors, thunderstorms
headed our way. Intense
confrontations rage
on our streets.

I admire how much of the world you’ve been able to compact into eleven short lines. I love the volta in line 9.
I love this piece! My favorite line: “supports six geese, a chorus”
Love the way you build gradually from the bucolic to the violent. A crescendo.
Yes, the gradual building of words – chorus (leans toward protestors), slashes, thunderstorms. Brilliant little poem!
Juxtaposition makes for powerful conclusion
