Dog Brain
These perforations line all the soft parts of my body
A perfect guide to spilling my soil back into this earth
And is it possible to be two places at once?
One is sprouting with the trees so peacefully
and the other is hiding in my closet praying that no one speaks to me
And if I had just paid more attention in school, maybe I could decode this dog brain of mine
Someone tell me why the sunset ahead looks so beautiful, but when I look in the rear view mirror, I can still see the night sky cursing me

Those first two lines are everything.
This is a wonderful poem.
i also say “wonderful”
from top to bottom a tease of doom
The title called me in the poem split me in two then surprised and comforted (birds of a feather). I love “spilling my soil back into the earth”
