Doll Baby
Always in the corner
with a doll in her lap,
her childood held
a sense of magic,
and a longing
of motherhood.
Now her second
childhood, a doll graces
her arms as she carefully
coddles its small body
of rigid plastic.

This one brought tears to my eyes. It brought someone to mind.
Few who read this will really know how close those two events are in this rapid, do it all or else world we live in.
Thank you both for your kind words!
“coddle” is good. haven’t heard the word used much lately. we all need more coddling
Indeed! Thank you!
Love this precious one, Dennis….. special blessings to these fragile ones?
This poem is real to life, a second childhood, and reminds me of my visit to a nursing home over the weekend.
Thank you both for your kind comments!
