Dumb Animals
The trainer said my dog
Is really, really smart.
But watching him race
As fast as possible
In a circle
On the living room rug
Chasing his own tail,
Makes me wonder
How smart he really is.
Of course,
The same could be said about me
And a sizable portion
Of the population of our planet.

I like it!
Thank you!
This poem makes me wonder about all the “whys” we run with the herd…and maybe how that explains the booming dog toy industry…etc….I really enjoy the scale of thinking your poem throws me into. Thanks!
Exactly!
