Evening Yoga in Haiku
Splayed across carpet
spine twisting, side opening,
kisses from cat’s tongue.
Fighting stance, planted
knee, warrior challenges
foe with arm outstretched.
Intertwined thighs, tang-
led elbows, bending forward,
eagle pauses, dives.
Tiptoes, skyward arms,
welcome starry dusk, exhale
sun salutations.
Palms pressed, eyes closed, stand-
ing meditation, quiet
peace. Breathe. Namaste.

Love how you used the haiku to show us the complexity in the simplicity of yoga.
