Exit, Stage Left
can’t imagine my life
as a hitchhiker on the interstate
ribbons of asphalt
fast food, fast gas
the only signs
of our
culture

Shades of Snagglepuss! Yes, a sad reflection of our time!
I remember hitchhiking cross country in the days when girls accompanied by male college buddies could be safe and hop a freight in the middle of the trek to break up the asphalt monotony. Your little poem brought back so many pictures to me . . . yes, fast food fast gas that costs too much cash hard to stomach this is our culture??? thank you for the fun free images resurrected!
