Expanding universe
“Thyme crept into the cracks in the terrace floor, silently and imperceptibly crumbling the stone into dust.” – Dorothy Sucher, The Invisible Garden
time creeps
into every crack
widens, pushes
everything
apart
to make room
for all the dust
it leaves

Love the pace and the air in it.
Perfect word choices, again.
An interesting thing happened in that ” it leaves ” sent me right back up to ” time creeps” and I read through twice like that.
Thanks for sharing this.
Jennifer, what a lovely poem! I could hear the world breaking apart, and I love the quote to go with it.
I love the duality in this! Great poem, Jennifer.
I like this poem’s conciseness in contrast to it’s title.
love the short couplets and the pacing it produces and clarity it gives.
This is a perfect poem – from form to words to thought.
Lovely spare form for this terrific poem.
